Call for Submissions
Pornotopia 2014: November 14-16, 2014
Pornotopia Film Festival is gearing up for its fifth year of celebrating the beauty and diversity of sexuality. The call for submissions has begun and any interested filmmakers can submit their content to be featured in the festival in Albuquerque, NM on Nov. 14-16. Pornotopia values luscious, kinky, consensual, gender-bending, sex-positive, empowering, educational, and downright dirty interpretations of the erotic on the big screen.
This November marks Pornotopia’s fifth glorious year. Pornotopia first launched onto Albuquerque’s scene in 2007 with a bang, a whole lot of media attention and even more community support. The festival was well-attended from 2007 to 2009. In 2008, the Guild Cinema was cited with a zoning violation for showing an erotic film. That put Pornotopia—and free speech—on hold. In 2013 that violation was overturned by the New Mexico State Supreme Court.
Pornotopia 2014 will be a celebration of free speech and excellent films. We aim to highlight real sex for a diverse world. Empowered by our recent court victory, we intend to showcase films that feature taboo—and often censored—sex acts, such as fisting. Help us change the face of porn!
Over the years the festival has proudly shown films from:
- Tony Comstock
- Tristan Taormino
- Shine Louise Houston and many more!
Your work can change how people’s bodies, hearts, and oh-so-many other parts are introduced, explained, viewed, and celebrated. Whether you’re a weekend indie filmmaker or an important cog in big-budget, mainstream Hollywood, we want to see your work. We especially welcome films by rural filmmakers, people of color, people with disabilities, transgender filmmakers, and people of size. We look forward to showing films that get pulses racing, and brains pulsing.
We will curate the submitted films into the sexiest porn mixtapes in the Southwest. This means while we may not show full-length films, your (and our) favorite scenes will be in fantastic company, and we will make it easy for folks to find you before and after the show. You can submit your film at any hour of the day, until June 30.
