Leather is porous and can react poorly when exposed to water. It’s ok to clean your leather occasionally with a cloth dampened with warm, soapy water followed by a damp cloth to remove the soap. Air dry. Try not to get water on the paper cuz it will wrinkle it.  You may also consider a commercial leather conditioner to keep your leather soft.
