Time: 7:30pm - 9pm Mountain time
Date: Wednesday, June 11th, 2025
Location: Live & In-Person at the store; 112 Morningside Dr NE, Albuquerque NM, 87108
In this writing circle, we'll look at poems and prompts related to the erotic, exploring sensuality, sexuality, and pleasure as a vessel for self-knowledge, self-expression, creativity, and freedom. In a special Pride edition (although we're always gay over here!), we'll explore ideas of queer excess and indulgence, "disaster gays and messy femmes," and what it would mean (and what it would take) to really have it all.
Poetry and writing are powerful ways through which to explore such creative energy and explore ourselves. We'll consider autonomy, desire, the natural world, and our relationships with plenty of time to write together in a confidential space.
Accessibility info: This class is held in-person. Masks are required at Self Serve, please follow all COVID/contagion protocols to help keep each other and our community safe. Our entrance & bathroom are accessible. Please refrain from wearing heavily scented products.
Jaye Elizabeth (they/she/whatever) is a poet, illustrator, professional pleasure seeker, and former Self Serve sex educator! Their practice connects language and art, the earth and the cosmos, erotics and education. They are a forever student (current subject areas include death and planetary devotion) and value the work of creating circles and containers for co-learning, unlearning, and collaboration.
