A clear, inclusive guide to sex, consent, and relationships for people with autism and disabilities. What Is Sex? is a thoughtfully written and illustrated introduction to sexual health and safety, specifically designed for readers with autism, intellectual disabilities, and special educational needs. This book explains what sex is in plain, respectful language, using medically accurate terms and visual support to help readers better understand their bodies, relationships, and choices. Author Kate E. Reynolds draws on her years of experience in public health and as a parent of neurodivergent children. With clarity and care, she tackles subjects that are too often avoided, like consent, pregnancy, sexual health, and naming body parts, so that readers can build a foundation of knowledge and confidence.
